I was once so far from him,
lost in darkness, nothing less
than his power of redeeming grace
brought me from my poor estate.
So in Christ I am forgiven,
on his mercy I rely—
I will love him more than life.

Let the story
of grace and glory
fill the heavens
with joyous song.

‘Cause out of darkness
his love redeemed us and brought us
into the glorious freedom
of Christ our Lord,
of Christ the Lord.

I will fall to my knees
at the feet of my risen Lord,
who’s removed shame and guilt,
every burden I’ve ever felt.
Now I’m blessed beyond all measure,
till the endless ages run
my joy shall know no bound.

in heartfelt prayer, strive
to know this Savior
who died for me.
